Hanoi University – First Forum on Ethnic groups: Awareness conference, Seminar and Focus Group, 24-25 March 2026

There are invitations that, once received, reveal a fortuitous opportunity. On March 24-25, 2026, Hanoi University organized an event in the framework of EMSIV Project – “Empowerment of ethnic minority students in Vietnam” with the participation of many universities, organizations and businesses both domestically and internationally. I was truly honored to receive the invitation to participate the program. Not only was I able to listen to valuable insights from professors, experts and businesses, but also met and heard inspiring stories from alumni. Their journeys of learning, career building and overcoming personal limitations have proved to me that: Your starting point does not define your destination. What matters is daring to move forward, constantly striving and preserving with your choices. As a member of an ethnic minority, I understand even more deeply the significance of the program – when there exists programs such as EMSIV that are quietly creating opportunities and opening doors, empowering students to become more confident, introspective, and achieve further. At this moment, I want to mention the word “gratitude” – the pivotal word that was mentioned often in my still-lacking presentation. Honestly, I want to express my gratitude to Ms. Hằng Vương Thu Hằng – the person who connected me with the chance to participate in such a meaningful program. This was more than just a simple “invitation”, it was beautiful occasion for me to return, learn, meet new people, and grow, helping me to realize my shortcomings and that I should strive harder. I want to extend my gratitude to Hanoi University and EMSIV Project for bringing about such a meaningful program – not just a workshop, but as a beacon that spreads hope, opportunity and motivation to young people. And from this experience, I want to say outloud what I often say: I love HANU so much. Thank you HANU – a brilliant part of my youth”.

Ms. Lương Thị Hồng Tiếp, member of Giáy ethnic group
