AlmaLaurea at European Higher Education Week 2025 in Vietnam, 1-3 November 2025

From 1 to 3 November 2025, the AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium took part in the European Higher Education Week (EHEW) held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, organised by the European Union Delegation to Vietnam in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) ans Embassies of EU Member States in Vietnam. The initiative, framed within the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, gathered over 300 representatives from 100 Vietnamese and 65 European universities, research institutes, technology companies, and development organisations, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Europe and Vietnam in higher education, research, and innovation. On 3 November, during the opening day dedicated to “Erasmus+ & Horizon Europe Day”, AlmaLaurea — represented by Dorel Manitiu, Project Coordinator of the International Relations Office — contributed to the session “Best practices from Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe projects”. The presentation highlighted AlmaLaurea’s experience in managing Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects and its involvement in other European Funding schemes, focusing on the Consortium’s role in fostering partnerships between European and Vietnamese universities and in promoting the use of graduates’ data to support education policies and employability strategies as well as its experience in Horizon Europe initiative through the participation as partner to “European Youth in Transition to Education and Labour” (EDU-LAB). AlmaLaurea’s participation in EHEW 2025 is part of a long-standing collaboration with Vietnam, launched through the “Opportunities for the young and graduates employability in Vietnam” (VOYAGE) and “Monitoring Trends In Vietnamese graduates’ Employment” (MOTIVE) projects, and currently continued with the ongoing “Empowerment of ethnic Minority Students In Vietnam” (EMSIV) and “Strengthening Internationalization of Vietnamese Emerging Universities” (STRIVE) projects, coordinated by the Consortium under the Erasmus+ programme. The event provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices, and to strengthen academic and institutional cooperation between Europe and Southeast Asia, in the spirit of a digital, sustainable, and inclusive future.
